Kaden and Damon find their childhood wearied amidst the pandemic. As quarantine fatigue sets in, Kaden becomes increasingly aware that the new normal is capricious. With the desperate need to escape, Kaden and Damon go on an adventure filled with exploration and discovery that holds the answer to what they desire most.

It’s August 1995 and Meskerem, a first generation Ethiopian American girl, is starting her first day of middle school. As she takes her seat, she quickly finds herself singled out following a polarizing exchange with her teacher that leaves her feeling isolated and ostracized. After learning what Meskerem has encountered at school, her immigrant mother reminds her to never allow her identity to be stripped away by the world. A lesson that stays with Meskerem throughout her days to come.

Three teen foster girls - Kid, Anna, and Jules - all have reasons for hating their group home. Kid is about to age out at 18 and has nowhere to go. Anna is having difficulties dealing with her hospitalized mother's recent overdose. And one of the male group home workers is sexually preying on Jules. Kid plots their escape to go in search of her biological mother, in hope of finding "home."
